Welcome to my techniques page
Here i will experiment and explore various photographic techniques alongside my personal project. These will range from experimentation with aperture to photoshop experiments,
Light drawings..
Here are some light drawings i did. These were some of my first attempts at a light drawing, and i honestly have to say they were alot harder to do than what i thought they would be! I had the shutter speed on my Camera really low, and the ISO at the highest, in a pitch black room. i then used the light in my phone to draw letters and shapes and this is how they turned out.
Composite images
These are some of my best composite images up to date. Here i based my photo's on Cornelia Hedigers work on 'dopplegangers'. i set up my camera on a tripod and took multiple images of Bonnie. After i thought i had enough good photos to use, i edited them together on photoshop. After opening the 2 photos i thought worked best together i put them into two layers. I then auto aligned the photos, mostly to make sure that the reflections in the mirror behind were right once i erased one bonnie into the other photo of bonnie. I really like how these images turned out, i love the background and lighting. I liked having the mirror in the background and the fireplace really added to the photo too.
Depth of field
Depth of field is the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera. Here i have taken a picture of my cousin and a friend and played around on photoshop with the curves, levels and vibrance of the images to enhance them.
Macro photography
Macro photography (or photomacrography or macrography, and sometimes macrophotography) is extreme close up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size (though macrophotography technically refers to the art of making very large photographs). By some definitions, a macro photograph is one in which the size of the subject on the negative or image sensor is life size or greater. However in other uses it refers to a finished photograph of a subject at greater than life size.
Playing around on photoshop with a picture of a flower i took in Tenerife
Her is a picture of a flower i took whilst in Tenerife this year. I went onto photoshop and played around a bit to see if i could make it look any better. The first thing i did was use curves and played around with that, i also played around with the contrast and brightness of the picture. I blured the background slighty too to make the flower stand out and look sharper. Another thing i did to the picture was take away the pipe on the floor by using the cloning tool. The top image of the three is the original image, the second is after using curves and changing contrast and brightness ect. and the last one is after i have removed the pipe and is the final image.
