The image below has been created in photoshop. I took the studio shot and using the pen tool and brush eraser i took away the background. I found it quite difficult to cut around the hair and need to practice this. I also think the models upper body appears to be too stiff and i need to reshoot this. I then pasted the figure into a road background similar to Rosie Hardy. I cloned out the previous figure. I need to think about how to add shadow to make the figure appear more realistic. I also flipped the original image so she is facing in the opposing direction. This was more pleasing to the eye. The figure is also too bright. I tried out the image with a slight desaturation and cross process but felt as if she was collaged on to the road. I need to practice blending and shadow.

The image below is more realistic for a levitation style photograph. The models head is tilted backwards and her neck is more relaxed. I will try and edit these images in photoshop to create a surreal image.
The picture below was taken in class. I feel that the position of the model is too stiff. Her head is raised in an awkward fashion. I reshot this image and asked the model to relax her neck to give the impression of floating, weightless.

The Photograph i have chosen to write about is 'Reverie' by Miss Aniela.Natalie 'Miss Aniela' Dybisz was born in Leeds, 1986, and studied BA English & Media at University of Sussex.
Her career as an artist began whilst still at University, and shortly following, was sought to speak in the US for Microsoft and offered solo shows in London and Madrid. She is now a fine-art and commercial photographer based in London.

This image is very surreal and stands out to me because of this. To create this image she has photographed the background first and then photographed herself laying on a stool or table. After processes include photoshop to edit out the stool . She has then layered this on top of a background photograph. The lighting and colours give the image a fresh, modern edge. The image appears peacefull. I think it is quite difficult to recreate such a relaxed pose with a model perched on a small stool or chair.

After researching into this image, i thought it would be a good idea to look up the definition of the title of the image. 'Reverie' is a state of being pleasantly lost in ones thoughts, or daydreaming. I think that this is a good title because the definition of reverie is definitely portrayed in this image..

The colours in this photograph are soft and subtle., This gives it a calming feel. I like that she looks so natural and relaxed. I chose to write about this image because of the surreal qualities. When i first looked at this image i liked that she was levitating and was interested in learning how it was done. After looking at it more closely and looking at the little things that add to the effect of it, i have grown to like it alot more, not just because of the surrealism but because of all the detail like the soft colours and naturalness, and the time and effort that has gone into making it so perfect.

This is why id really like to try and recreate an image like this. What i particularly like about this piece is how tranquil it is. I really like this photograph and honestly cant say there is one thing i dislike about it. If i were to ask Miss Aniela anything, i would ask where her inspiration came from for this image. I have really been inspired by Miss Anielas work and am basing alot of the ideas i have for future work on her work.

I really like this image by Rosie Hardy. I like that it has an eerie feel to it. I like that there is a long stretch of road in the background, its simple but effective and adds to the eeriness with the grey sky and dullness. I like this because it has a completely different feel to Miss Anielas 'The Smothering'.

I like the fact all of Miss Aniels work is very surreal . I am interested in learning how to recreate these images. To me this image in particular stands out, because the fact that she is levitating but her head is being smothered in a box makes it the most obviously surreal image. Its because it is so obviously surreal that i like this photo and its what attracted me to it the most.

One image that really stands out to me is this image by Miss Aniela. this is an image i would really like to recreate. I like how beautiful she looks in this image. To me she looks angelic and peaceful. i love it!
